Principal:

Dear Preschool Families,

I hope you are all doing well! It has been another exciting week in preschool, and I’m thrilled to share some wonderful updates with you.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Parents Club Book Fair and helped make the event such a success. The Book Fair is a wonderful opportunity for our students to discover new stories and foster a love of reading, and we truly appreciate your continued involvement.

In addition to the Book Fair, our classes have been busy creating engaging learning experiences. This week marked the beginning of our field trips to the Cape May Zoo. Students enjoyed learning about the different animals they would encounter, and those who attended were thrilled to see them up close. A heartfelt thank you to the parents who volunteered as chaperones - your support helps make these enriching experiences possible. If you have any questions about upcoming trips, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher.
With spring in full bloom, our classrooms have been buzzing with outdoor learning activities, from exploring insects to discovering the basics of gardening. These activities aligned perfectly with Earth Day on April 22. Our young learners explored ways to care for our planet and put their knowledge into action by planting seeds for grass, flowers, and vegetables. It has been inspiring to watch their curiosity grow alongside their gardens.

Looking ahead, during the week of May 4, 2026, we will celebrate Staff Appreciation Week. I know I speak for our entire community when I say how grateful we are for the dedication, passion, and care our teachers and staff show each day. They truly embody our school philosophy: Embrace – Engage – Educate. Please join me in thanking them for all they do to support and nurture your children.

Finally, please mark your calendars for two important upcoming events. Slaybaugh Primary’s Book Fair will take place from May 11–15, 2026. Then, on Thursday, May 14, the Egg Harbor Township Preschool Program will host our Annual Spring Festival at Slaybaugh Primary School beginning at 5:00 PM. It was a fantastic event last year, and this year promises to be just as memorable. Rain or shine, we look forward to bringing our school community together for a fun-filled evening.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Warm regards,
Joe Marinelli

A Carnival in the Classroom!

Mrs. Abrams’ class had a blast celebrating "Bring Your Child to Work Day!" Mrs. Abrams brought her children to join us, and they took the lead by running our classroom carnival. It was a wonderful, interactive way to bring the excitement of the workday right into our learning space.

Careers & Curiosity

Today, we celebrate "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day!" Whether you are bringing your child along to explore your workplace or taking time to discuss what you do for a living, this is a wonderful opportunity to spark curiosity in your young learner. Exposing our children to different career paths helps them dream big and understand the importance of hard work and community contribution. We hope your day is filled with discovery, fun, and new "big kid" experiences!

We were truly touched by the overwhelming kindness and appreciation you showed us on Administrative Professionals Day! Thank you for the thoughtful gestures, encouraging words, and warm smiles. It is our absolute pleasure to be the first faces you see when you walk through our doors, and it is a joy to support your children every single day.
