Week of April 12, 2026

Principal:

Dear Preschool Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Spring Recess! It was a joy to welcome our students back on Monday—they certainly jumped right into a busy and exciting week.

With spring in full bloom, many of our classrooms have been buzzing with outdoor learning activities, from exploring insects to learning about gardening. These timely topics paired perfectly with Earth Day around the corner. Our young learners enjoyed discovering how they can help care for our planet, and they put their new knowledge to good use by planting seeds to grow grass, flowers, and vegetables. It has been inspiring to see their enthusiasm and curiosity blossom right alongside their gardens.

On April 20, we officially kick off the Bargaintown Spring Book Fair—a great opportunity to pick out a special book and share the love of reading with your child. Slaybaugh Primary’s Book Fair will take place May 11–15, 2026.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Joe Marinelli
Principal

Nature’s Classroom

Ms. Garman and Ms. Claudia's class began their plants study this week with a fun nature walk. They took a walk outdoors at the high school and collected dandelions to add to their cardboard vases. They had so much fun comparing the different stem lengths, and can't wait for their next adventure!
