Dear Preschool Families,
We had a snowy start to the week with snow days on Monday and Tuesday. I hope everyone weathered the storm safely and, after shoveling out, found some time to build the perfect snowman! My son certainly made the most of it by turning a huge snow pile into a snowboard ramp.
This week, our staff concluded February and Black History Month. We hope that the lessons and activities have helped our children understand the significant achievements and rich cultural heritage of the Black community and its contributions to the growth and diversity of America.
Next week, we are excited to celebrate Read Across America Week! We’ll be promoting the love of reading through fun theme days and guest readers. It’s going to be a week full of joy and learning, so I hope your child enjoys the activities we have planned.
Here’s a quick look at the theme days:
-
Monday, March 2: No School - Snuggle, Cuddle and Read at home
-
Tuesday, March 3: Dr. Seuss Day - wear stripes or red & white
-
Wednesday, March 4: Wacky Wednesday - Dress wacky or turn your clothes inside out / backwards
-
Thursday, March 5: Green Eggs & Ham - wear green
- Friday, March 6: Cozy up with a book - wear pajamas
Please note, Monday, March 2 - there will be NO SCHOOL for students as staff will have a professional learning day. And March 3 - is an abbreviated school day. Parent pick-up will begin at 1:25 pm, and bus dismissal will be at 1:45 pm.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to seeing the creativity and excitement next week during our Read Across America celebrations!
Warm regards,
Joe Marinelli, Principal
